Party Barn — Dover, OH
Dover Party Barn
Barn Conversion
We modified this early-1800s structure to create a space where the client could host gatherings, holiday meals and special events for family and friends. The white oak frame was built using traditional Swiss timber framing methods.
Barn Modifications
Key alterations included adding a swing beam to create an open interior space, raising the original loft for adequate first-floor headroom, and incorporating a Rumford fireplace positioned where rot had damaged the original structure.
Additional enhancements feature a decorative cupola, metal roofing, and threshing floor boards repurposed as window ledges.
Finishing Touches
The design incorporates handicap accessible entrances, a full kitchen and prep kitchen, a pizza oven and a stamped concrete heated floor. A 16-foot wraparound porch extends the outdoor seating — creating a beautiful and versatile space while saving a one-of-a-kind structure.
